The a7CR goes head-to-head with the Canon EOS R6 Mark III and Fujifilm X-H2. The Canon swaps resolution for speed, offering 6K oversampled 4K60 with no crop and a far better EVF. It's the better hybrid. The Fuji X-H2 delivers 40MP for less money and shoots 8K, but its crop sensor can't match the full-frame depth-of-field control or low-light tonality. If you live and die by megapixels and travel light, the a7CR is the clear pick.

If you're a hybrid shooter who needs uncropped 4K60 or a dual card slot for redundancy, the a7CR will frustrate you. Get the Sony a7 IV or Canon EOS R6 Mark III instead.
