The Acer Aspire 14 AI Copilot+ PC is a solid little laptop that nails the basics for everyday work, but it's hiding a major secret. The one thing you need to know is that this machine is built for AI features and battery life, not raw power. It's a fantastic portable companion if you're just browsing, writing, and watching videos, but if you're expecting a powerhouse, you'll be disappointed. It's basically a modern, well-connected ultrabook that's betting big on the AI hype.

The battery life is genuinely impressive, hitting up to 14.5 hours in our database's tests, which puts it well above average for a Windows laptop. That's the good surprise. The bad surprise is the processor. Its CPU performance ranks dead last in our comparisons, which means it's one of the worst we've seen for tasks that need serious computing muscle. The Intel Arc graphics are a solid middle-of-the-pack performer for light tasks, but don't expect to do anything more than casual gaming.

Prices range from $460 to $572. At the lower end, it's a decent deal for a portable AI laptop with great battery life. At the higher end, it's a tougher sell against more capable competitors. If you can snag it around $500, it's worth it for the specific use case. If you're paying over $550, you're probably better off looking elsewhere.

Against the ASUS ProArt PX13, you're trading a lot of performance and a gorgeous OLED screen for better battery life and a lower price. The ProArt is for creators; this Acer is for students and commuters. Compared to a base model Microsoft Surface Laptop, the Acer offers similar portability and AI features but with worse build quality and a much weaker processor. The Surface feels more premium, but costs more. For raw power, even a Lenovo Legion gaming laptop at a similar price would run circles around this thing, but you'd sacrifice battery life and portability.

If you're looking for a reliable, fast laptop for school or work that can handle heavier software, this isn't it. Go get an ASUS ProArt or even a last-gen MacBook Air instead. If you're a gamer, obviously skip this. Look at a Lenovo Legion or similar gaming laptop.

We recommend this laptop only if your needs are very specific. You want a light, portable Windows machine with fantastic battery life and you're excited to use the new AI features. You don't care about processor speed, screen quality, or gaming. For anyone else, especially students needing reliability or professionals needing performance, there are better choices. It's a niche product that excels in a few areas and fails hard in others.
