Overview

The Acer Aspire 14 AI Copilot+ PC is a lightweight laptop that's trying to do a lot of things at once, but its core processor is a major letdown. The one thing you need to know is that its CPU performance ranks in the 1st percentile, which is a fancy way of saying it's painfully slow compared to almost anything else you could buy. It's got some nice AI features and a decently portable design, but that sluggish chip is a deal-breaker for anything beyond the most basic web browsing.

Performance

Let's be real, the performance is rough. That AMD 1200 CPU is a serious bottleneck. It's a 4-core chip from a few generations ago, and it shows. The Intel Arc integrated graphics are surprisingly capable for an iGPU, landing in the 59th percentile, and the 16GB of RAM is fine. But that weak CPU means you'll feel the lag when you have more than a few browser tabs open. The AI features are neat, but they can't fix a slow processor.

Value & Pricing

Prices are all over the place, from $460 to $572. At the low end of that range, it's a passable budget ultraportable if you only need it for email and documents. At $572, it's a terrible deal. You're paying for AI features on a machine that struggles with basic multitasking. The value just isn't there unless you find it heavily discounted.

vs Competition

Compared to the ASUS Zenbook Duo, you lose the innovative dual-screen setup and get a much weaker CPU, but you save a lot of money and gain better battery life. Against an Apple MacBook Air with an M-series chip, there's no contest—the MacBook is faster, has a better screen, and lasts longer on a charge. The Acer's main draw is its low price and AI features, but both competitors offer a much more polished overall experience.

Verdict

Skip it. The terrible CPU performance and concerning reliability score make this a hard laptop to recommend, even at its low price. The good battery life and AI features can't make up for a core component that's this weak. You're better off looking at a refurbished business laptop or saving up for a base model MacBook Air or a Ryzen-powered budget Windows laptop.
