Lenovo Idea Tab 11" Review

The Lenovo Idea Tab offers a great screen for media at a budget price, but its 4GB of RAM holds it back from doing anything more. It's a simple tablet for a simple job.

Overview

The Lenovo Idea Tab is a solid budget Android tablet that knows its lane. It's got a sharp 11-inch 2.5K IPS screen that hits 500 nits, which is genuinely nice for the price. Under the hood, you're looking at a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chip with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, running Android 15. It's built for media and light tasks, not heavy lifting. At 454 grams, it's light and easy to hold for reading or watching shows, which is exactly what it's best at according to its scores.

Performance

Performance is exactly what you'd expect from these specs. The Dimensity 6300 and 4GB of RAM handle streaming and basic apps just fine. But push it with multitasking or anything demanding, and you'll feel the limits. Its CPU and GPU land in the 37th and 39th percentiles, so it's not a powerhouse. The 4GB of RAM is its biggest bottleneck, sitting in the 28th percentile, which explains the weak 17.6/100 productivity score. For entertainment and reading, it's perfectly adequate.

Value & Pricing

At around $180, the value proposition is clear. You're getting a capable media viewer with a better-than-expected screen. You're not paying for power you won't use if all you do is watch videos, browse the web, and read. Just know you're buying a device with very specific, limited strengths. For this price, that's a fair trade-off.

vs Competition

It's not competing with an iPad Pro or Surface Pro. Those are in another league for power and price. The real comparison is against other budget Android tablets. It beats generic 'N-one' tablets on screen quality and software. However, if you can stretch your budget, a last-gen Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE often goes on sale and offers much better performance and more RAM. The Lenovo Legion Go is a different beast entirely for gaming. This Idea Tab wins on being a simple, cheap screen for content.

Verdict

Buy this if you want a dedicated, affordable tablet for streaming videos, reading, and very light web browsing. It's a great second screen for the couch. Don't buy it if you need to do real work, multitask with several apps, or play anything beyond casual games. It's a one-trick pony, but for $180, it does that trick pretty well.
