Acer Tab P10 Acer Iconia Tab P10 P10-21Q-870Q 6GB LPDDR4X Review
With a CPU ranking in the 2nd percentile, the Acer Tab P10 is one of the slowest tablets you can buy. We dig into whether its $305 price tag is a bargain or a trap.
Overview
The Acer Tab P10 is a $305 Android tablet that sits squarely in the budget category. Its 10.4-inch screen and 499g weight make it a decently portable option for basic tasks. But the numbers tell a clear story: this is a device built for affordability, not performance. Its CPU and GPU rankings are in the 2nd and 6th percentiles, respectively, which means it's significantly slower than most other tablets out there.
Our scoring system reflects that. It's best suited for simple student work and reading, scoring around 29 out of 100 in those areas. For anything more demanding, like art or design, it struggles with a score of just 15.7. You're getting a functional, lightweight Android slate, but you're making some serious performance trade-offs to hit that $300 price point.
Performance
Let's be direct: performance is the P10's biggest weakness. That AMD 1200 8-core CPU lands in the 2nd percentile. In practical terms, expect noticeable lag when switching between apps or trying to run more than a couple of things at once. The 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM helps a bit, sitting in the 53rd percentile, but it can't overcome the sluggish processor.
The GPU is even weaker, ranking in the 6th percentile. Don't plan on playing anything beyond the simplest mobile games. For everyday stuff like browsing and video streaming, it'll manage, but you'll feel the limits quickly. Storage is a relative bright spot at the 56th percentile with 128GB of UFS, which is decent for the price.

Value & Pricing
At $305, the Acer Tab P10 is purely a value play. You're paying for a functional Android tablet and not much else. The performance per dollar ratio is low because the core specs are so weak. You're essentially trading all performance for a low entry price. If your budget is absolutely fixed at $300 and you need a new tablet for very light use, it's an option. But spending even a little more usually gets you a much better experience.
Price History
vs Competition
Stacked against the competition, the P10's weaknesses are glaring. An older base model iPad, often found around $329, will run circles around it in CPU and GPU performance. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+, in a similar price range, typically offers better screen quality and a more responsive experience. Even compared to other budget Android tablets, the P10's 2nd percentile CPU is a major outlier on the low end. The Lenovo Legion Go, while a different category, highlights what slightly more money can get you in raw power. The P10 only makes sense if the other tablets are completely out of your price range.

Verdict
I can't recommend the Acer Tab P10 for most people. The 2nd percentile CPU is a deal-breaker for anything beyond the most basic, patient use. It scores poorly in nearly every performance metric we track. If you need a tablet for a young child or as a dedicated, single-purpose device like a recipe screen, it might work. For anyone else, especially students who might need it for more than reading PDFs, your money is much better spent on a used previous-gen iPad or a different budget Android model. The low price isn't low enough to justify the severe performance cut.
