HP HP Business Laptop,15.6 HD Touchscreen,Intel core Review

This HP laptop offers a big touchscreen and 1TB storage for $500, but its slow Intel Core i3 processor and low-resolution display make it hard to recommend for most users.

Overview

This HP business laptop is a bit of a mixed bag. You get a big 15.6-inch touchscreen and a full 1TB of storage, which is great for the price. But under the hood, it's running a basic Intel Core i3-1315U processor and integrated graphics, so don't expect it to handle anything heavy.

Performance

The Intel i3-1315U is an entry-level chip, and it shows. It's fine for web browsing, documents, and streaming, but it'll start to struggle with too many apps open at once. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics are a major weak spot, scoring in the bottom half for GPU performance. That 90th percentile touchscreen is nice and bright, but it's only HD resolution, so things won't look super sharp on that big panel.

Value & Pricing

At around $500, it's a cheap laptop. You're paying for the screen size and storage capacity, not the performance. If your needs are extremely basic and you just want a big touchscreen for media, it's an okay deal. But for most people, spending a little more gets you a much better machine.

$500

vs Competition

Compared to a Lenovo ThinkPad P14s, you lose out on professional build quality, a better CPU, and way more ports. Next to an ASUS Zenbook Duo, you're missing the innovative second screen and a much more powerful processor. Even against other $500 laptops, the weak i3 CPU and low-resolution screen are hard to ignore when others offer sharper displays and faster Ryzen chips.

Verdict

Only buy this if your budget is absolutely locked at $500 and you do nothing but watch videos and check email. The big touchscreen is its only real draw. For anyone who needs reliability, speed, or a sharp display for work, look at a refurbished business laptop or save up for something with a better processor.
