Dell Inspiron Dell Inspiron 15 Touchscreen Laptop Computer for Review
The Dell Inspiron 15 packs a staggering 128GB of RAM into a budget laptop, but everything else is a compromise. It's only for a very specific type of user.
Overview
The Dell Inspiron 15 is a weird one. It's got a massive 128GB of RAM, which is more than most people will ever need, paired with a pretty standard AMD 7730U CPU and a basic 1080p touchscreen. It feels like a machine built for a very specific, and frankly odd, task.
Performance
That 128GB of RAM puts it in the 99th percentile, which is wild for a laptop at this price. The CPU is middle-of-the-road, landing in the 50th percentile, so it's fine for daily tasks. But the integrated GPU is predictably weak, scoring in the 18th percentile, so don't even think about gaming. The storage is a small 512GB SSD, and it's only got WiFi 5, which feels outdated.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- An absurd amount of RAM (128GB) for the price. 99th
- The touchscreen is a nice bonus for the basics. 94th
- It's relatively lightweight at 1.63kg.
- Windows 11 Pro is included, which is good for power users.
Cons
- The integrated graphics are terrible for anything beyond web browsing. 6th
- Only 512GB of storage feels cramped next to all that RAM. 17th
- WiFi 5 is slow compared to modern WiFi 6/6E. 18th
- The screen quality is below average, in the 16th percentile. 27th

Value & Pricing
At around $278, it's cheap. You're paying for that mountain of RAM and not much else. If your workflow specifically needs tons of RAM for virtual machines or massive data sets on a tight budget, it's a unique deal. For everyone else, the compromises in storage, graphics, and connectivity are hard to ignore.
vs Competition
It's in a totally different league than gaming beasts like the MSI Vector or Gigabyte AORUS. A more direct competitor is the Lenovo ThinkPad P14s, which will have better build quality, ports, and reliability for a similar price, but with way less RAM. The ASUS Zenbook Duo offers a revolutionary dual-screen setup for creatives. This Dell is a one-trick pony compared to those.

Verdict
Buy this only if you are a developer or data scientist on a razor-thin budget who absolutely needs 128GB of RAM for local testing. For general students, the weak GPU and screen make it a poor choice. For anyone else, spend a bit more for a more balanced machine.
