Samsung Samsung 16" Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 2-in-1 Review

Samsung's premium 2-in-1 has a gorgeous OLED screen, but its processor is so slow it ruins the entire experience. Here's why you should look elsewhere.

Overview

The Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 is a confusing machine. On paper, it's a premium 2-in-1 with a gorgeous OLED screen and tons of RAM. But that CPU is a massive red flag. The one thing you need to know is this: its processor performance is in the 1st percentile. That means it's slower than 99% of other laptops in its class, which is a deal-breaker for a device at this price.

Performance

The performance story is a real head-scratcher. You get a killer screen, great ports, and 32GB of RAM, but it's all held back by a shockingly weak CPU. The Intel Arc integrated graphics are decent for light tasks, scoring in the 59th percentile, but that's the only bright spot. The benchmarks confirm it's terrible for gaming (20.7/100) and just okay for business and entertainment. It feels like Samsung put a scooter engine in a sports car body.

Value & Pricing

With prices swinging from $1510 to $1850, the value is terrible unless you find it at the absolute bottom of that range and only care about media consumption. Even then, you're paying a premium for specs that don't perform. At nearly two grand, this is a hard pass.

vs Competition

This laptop is in a weird spot. If you want a powerful 2-in-1, the ASUS Zenbook Duo offers way more innovative screen real estate for similar money. If raw power is your goal, the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i or MSI Vector 16 will run circles around it for gaming and creative work. And if you're in the Apple ecosystem and need a reliable workhorse, the 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M4 chip is in a different league of performance and efficiency. The Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 doesn't win against any of them.

Verdict

I can't recommend this. It's a classic case of specs on paper not matching real-world performance. The terrible CPU cripples what could have been a great laptop. Unless you find it heavily discounted and plan to use it solely as a Netflix machine, your money is much better spent on almost any of its competitors. Skip it.
