Autofocus — More Pro than EverThe EOS R6 Mark III camera offers many of the same AF features as Canon’s powerful EOS R5 Mark II and EOS R1 cameras. It features four additional AF area options, displayed with a small lock icon, which deliberately cancel Focus Tracking and Subject Detection AF, as well as Whole Area Servo AF tracking is disabled. Aperçu
Le Canon EOS R6 Mark III, c'est un peu le couteau suisse déjanté de Canon. Ce qui claque d'entrée, c'est ce mariage entre une rafale de 40 images par seconde et une stabilisation qui frôle la magie (8,5 stops annoncés, et pour une fois, le marketing ne ment pas). Si vous photographiez des sujets qui bougent, des enfants aux guépards, vous allez adorer. C'est aussi une bête de vidéo avec du 8K et du 4K à 120p, de quoi satisfaire les créatifs exigeants.
Performances
Ce qui m'a bluffé, c'est la réactivité globale. L'autofocus à 1053 collimateurs ne lâche jamais l'œil ou l'animal, même en basse lumière. Et la rafale? En RAW, elle tient la cadence sans broncher, alors que la concurrence commence à tousser. Le point faible, c'est l'EVF : 1,6 million de points, ça fait daté et moins immersif qu'un viseur 5,76 Mpix. Pour le sport, on fait avec, mais on aimerait mieux.

Rapport qualité-prix
Côté tarif, on a vu de tout : de 2335$ chez un revendeur inconnu à 671646$ ailleurs (non, ce n'est pas une blague, vérifiez par vous-même). Autant dire que le prix est le vrai miroir sans tain de ce modèle. Si vous trouvez un R6 Mark III neuf sous les 2500$, c'est une excellente affaire, surtout pour un hybride de ce calibre. Au-dessus de 3000$, la réflexion s'impose, à moins que vous ne viviez avec l'oeil collé au viseur et la gâchette en mode sports.
Face à la concurrence
Face au Sony a7 V, le Canon rend des points en résolution fine pour le studio, mais dès qu'un sujet bouge, il le dévore. Le Nikon Z9 reste le roi de la polyvalence extrême avec son capteur empilé, mais il pèse un âne mort et coûte le double. Pour un hybride orienté action et vidéo sans se ruiner, le R6 III boxe clairement au-dessus de sa catégorie, et le Panasonic GH7 fait pâle figure avec son capteur Micro 4/3 dès que la lumière baisse.

Oui, les mêmes cartes SD UHS-II fonctionnent sans problème. Pas besoin de racheter un lecteur, tu utilises les mêmes.
À qui ce produit ne convient pas
Si vous faites surtout de la photo studio posée ou du produit, ce boîtier est un sprinter dans un marathon. Un Sony a7R V avec ses 61 MP capturera bien plus de détails fins. Et si vous cherchez un compagnon de voyage léger avec une grosse autonomie, orientez-vous plutôt vers un Fujifilm X-T5.

Le Canon EOS R6 Mark III est une machine à ne pas rater le moment. Sa stabilisation et son autofocus sont d'un confort absolu, et la vidéo 8K le place devant bien des concurrents. Vérifiez juste le prix au moment de l'achat, mais si vous le dégotez dans la fourchette basse, foncez. C'est un des hybrides les plus amusants et performants que l'on ait eu entre les mains.
