Aperçu
L'EliteDesk 8 G1i, c'est la tour qu'on achète quand on en a marre des compromis sur le multitâche lourd. Avec un Intel Core Ultra 9 285 à 24 cœurs et 64 Go de RAM, cette machine écrase tout ce qui est calcul, compilation et virtualisation, mais elle assume un péché mignon : pas de carte graphique dédiée. Ce n'est pas une machine pour jouer ni pour faire de la 3D, et HP ne s'en cache pas. Si votre quotidien, c'est du Excel XXL, du code qui compile 20 minutes ou des workloads AI légers, vous êtes à la bonne adresse.
Performances
Le processeur nous a bluffés, même sans GPU costaud. En pur traitement de données, la puce AtomPunk de dernière génération tient tête à des stations de travail bien plus chères, avec un score CPU en plein dans le top 7 % de notre base. Les 64 Go de DDR5 en quad-channel tiennent la cadence, et le SSD PCIe 4.0 de 2 To affiche des débits qui font pâlir la concurrence. Le truc qui fait tiquer, c'est la partie graphique intégrée : elle dépasse à peine la moyenne des PC de bureau, donc oubliez Blender, Premiere Pro ou même un petit Call of Duty. Pour le reste, c'est un tracteur qui ne cale jamais.

Rapport qualité-prix
Le prix public s'éparpille entre 2499 $ et plus de 4000 $ selon les shops, donc magasinez ferme. La version testée chez Newegg tire le ticket le plus bas. À ce tarif, pour un CPU quasi Xeon, 64 Go de RAM et un stockage rapide, c'est une affaire si vous exploitez vraiment la puissance brute. Mais si vous n'allez pas utiliser les 24 cœurs, une petite tour à mille dollars largement suffisante vous fera économiser gros.
Face à la concurrence
Si vous hésitez avec un ASUS ROG ou un Lenovo Legion Tower de gamme pro, posez-vous une question : avez-vous besoin d'un GPU ? Les tours gaming embarquent des RTX 4060 ou mieux, parfaites pour la création de contenu ou les pauses Fortnite, mais leur CPU reste moins véloces en multicœur. Le Dell XPS EBT2250 propose lui aussi une config musclée avec carte graphique, mais explose le budget. L'EliteDesk, lui, boxe dans la catégorie « station de dev sans écran », et il fait bien le job.
