If you're looking at a $200-plus price tag, though, the music performance becomes a tougher pill to swallow, especially when those dollars can get you the Sony WF-1000XM5 or Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4, which sound noticeably better. Shopping around is mandatory.

Stacked against the Sony WF-1000XM5 or Bose QuietComfort Ultra 2nd Gen, the JBL holds its own in noise canceling and flat-out wins on call clarity. But both those competitors deliver a richer, more articulate music experience. The Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro edges it out with a more balanced tuning and better codec support, while the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 remains the audiophile champion. The Technics EAH-AZ100-K is another strong rival for sound quality. Really, the Live Beam 3 carves a niche for people who need top-tier mics and ANC above all, a legitimate choice if your work and commute revolve around calls.

Audio purists and anyone who lives for intricate soundscapes should skip these. If music quality is your top priority, the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 or Sony WF-1000XM5 will make your ears much happier. The Live Beam 3's audio performance is too compressed and unrefined to satisfy serious listeners.
