Pour 1290 $, vous recevez une ardoise Android 10.1" complètement verrouillée, sans accès au web, aux jeux ni aux vidéos, avec un abonnement d'un an inclus. Ensuite, c'est 960 $ par an, sans broncher. L'idée est noble : offrir un outil d'apprentissage sans distraction pour les enfants de la maternelle au CM2. Mais en pratique, c'est surtout une facture salée pour du matériel d'entrée de gamme et un contenu qui ne fait pas l'unanimité.
Le point essentiel à retenir : c'est un investissement très lourd, comparable au prix d'un iPad Air avec une coque et des applis éducatives, mais sans la flexibilité. Et d'après notre analyse des retours utilisateurs, le sentiment général est franchement mauvais, avec un score de satisfaction dans le 1er percentile de notre base. Oui, vous avez bien lu. Les parents sont partagés entre la qualité de fabrication correcte et la frustration de payer cher pour quelque chose qui pourrait être remplacé par une tablette standard bien configurée.
Performances
Nous avons été surpris de voir qu'avec un CPU MediaTek bas de gamme (17e percentile) et seulement 32 Go de stockage (10e percentile), le système reste assez réactif pour ses quelques apps éducatives. Mais cette tablette ne fait quasiment rien d'autre : pas de multitâche, pas de jeux, pas de navigation. Le stylet électromagnétique est un point fort sur le papier, mais de nombreux propriétaires rapportent qu'il cesse de fonctionner au bout de quelques semaines. N'espérez pas l'utiliser pour du dessin poussé, ça reste un gadget éducatif. L'écran 1920x1200 est correct, mais dans le 27e percentile, il est loin d'être lumineux et la dalle LCD manque de contraste. Bref, ça suit pour des exercices de maths et de lecture, mais c'est bien tout.

Avec ce budget, vous achetez un iPad 10e génération flambant neuf, une coque antichoc, et un abonnement à des applis éducatives comme Khan Academy ou Duolingo pour toute la famille. Face à la concurrence
On ne peut pas comparer la Smile Zemi aux tablettes classiques comme l'iPad ou la Galaxy Tab, car elle est volontairement bridée. Mais parlons prix : une tablette Amazon Fire Kids Edition coûte moins de 150 $ avec un abonnement Amazon Kids+ optionnel, et elle donne accès à une ludothèque bien plus vaste.
