The Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH Lens boasts a significant upgrade from its predecessor, now featuring eleven aperture blades instead of nine, resulting in a visibly improved bokeh effect. The closest focusing distance has also been reduced from 70 to 40 centimeters, enhancing your ability to capture stunning close-up shots. When shooting up to 70 centimeters, you can rely on the rangefinder on all Leica M cameras as usual. For the extended close-focus range between 70 and 40 centimeters, you can control it via Live View on the screen, the Visoflex viewfinder, or the Leica FOTOS app, after a slight perceptible resistance. The lens hood is now round and directly integrated into the lens, making it easily accessible at all times. This new lens replaces the current Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH lenses (11663), while maintaining the same optical formula and filter size (E46). The close focus distance of up to 0.4m is made possible by a patent-pending double cam unit, newly developed by Leica engineers. As a result, the rotation angle of the focus ring has almost doubled to 176 degrees compared to the previous model, all while maintaining the same compact size of the lens.
