La ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 è semplicemente una delle macchine da gioco più potenti che abbiamo mai testato. Monta una RTX 5080 con 16GB di VRAM, il nuovo Intel Core Ultra 9 285H e ben 64GB di RAM saldata. Il vero asso nella manica è lo schermo OLED Nebula: 2.5K, 240Hz, 0.2ms e 500 nit di luminosità. Se cerchi un portatile che non ti faccia rimpiangere il desktop, questo è il candidato numero uno.
Prestazioni
La RAM da 64GB è letteralmente il meglio che puoi trovare oggi, e la RTX 5080 schiaccia tutto a pieni giri. Nei nostri test, il gaming in 2.5K tocca i 100 fps con dettagli ultra senza troppa fatica, e la CPU regge anche i carichi creativi pesanti. Ma la sorpresa più grossa è stato lo schermo: colori perfetti, neri infiniti e quella frequenza di aggiornamento che fa sembrare qualsiasi movimento fluido come l'olio.

Rispetto alla concorrenza
Contro il Lenovo Legion Pro 7i, questo Zephyrus vince per qualità costruttiva e schermo, ma il Lenovo costa di meno e offre prestazioni simili, quindi se badi al sodo occhio al prezzo. Se invece vieni dal mondo Apple, il MacBook Pro M4 Max è più sottile, ha un'autonomia bestiale ed è più silenzioso, ma non gira Windows e nel gaming è lontano anni luce. Per un creativo che lavora su Final Cut è meglio il Mac, per tutti gli altri il ROG è la scelta più completa.

Non scherziamo. Con uso office e luminosità ridotta arrivi forse a 6 ore. Appena attivi la GPU, la batteria precipita e dopo un'ora sei al 15%.

La RAM è saldata, quindi no: 64GB sono fissi. Lo storage è un NVMe da 2TB che puoi sostituire con uno più capiente, ma onestamente 2TB bastano e avanzano.
Q: Meglio questo o un MacBook Pro M4 Max?
Dipende da cosa fai. Per gaming, programmi Windows e flessibilità, vai di Zephyrus senza pensarci. Se vivi su Final Cut, Logic Pro e vuoi autonomia infinita, il Mac è la scelta giusta.
A chi non è adatto
Se cerchi un laptop sottilissimo da infilare in una borsa da ufficio e usare per ore lontano dalla presa, questo non fa per te. Il peso non è esagerato, ma per un 16 pollici si sente. Vai su un Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro o un Dell XPS se la portabilità è la priorità, e lascia perdere il gaming spinto.

La ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 è un gioiello di potenza racchiuso in un corpo tutto sommato portatile. Non è perfetta: la batteria ti abbandona in fretta e le ventole le senti anche in salotto. Ma se vuoi giocare a qualsiasi titolo con dettagli al massimo o montare video in 4K senza rallentamenti, oggi non c'è di meglio. Compra con fiducia, ma porta sempre il caricabatterie nello zaino.
