This is the reissue without Fazors, and it's all about that thick, syrupy tonality that makes everything sound a little more romantic. The one thing to know is that these are endgame headphones for people who prioritize a lush, immersive listening experience over razor-sharp clinical detail. They demand a good amplifier, they're built like a tank, and they weigh about as much as one, but the sound is simply intoxicating.

What surprised us most is how these massive 106mm planar magnetic drivers handle bass. Out of the box, it's more of a gentle rumble than a punch in the chest, but feed them some clean power and a little EQ, and they transform. The LCD-2C is a wired, open-back desktop headphone for critical listening. The real competitor here is something like the Hifiman Arya Stealth. The Arya is lighter, more comfortable, and has a vastly wider soundstage, but it's also more expensive and has a brighter, more analytical tuning. The Audeze is for people who want a weighty, warm, and intimate presentation. If you want a huge, airy soundstage, get the Hifiman. If you want to feel the music wrap around you like a heavy velvet blanket, get the Audeze.

If you're looking for a portable, wireless headphone with noise cancelling for your commute, this is the absolute wrong tool for the job. Go get the Sony WH-1000XM6 instead.
