Met de M4-chip is de iPad Air M4 een beest van een tablet die creatievelingen en multitaskers laat watertanden. Het 11-inch Liquid Retina-scherm is een streling voor het oog en de 1TB opslag is ideaal voor wie zijn hele portfolio meeneemt. Maar dat prijskaartje van $1250 voelt stevig, zeker omdat Apple de batterijduur en de hoeveelheid RAM in het ongewisse laat. Dit is geen alleskunner: voor lezen is hij ronduit matig en onderweg haal je de dag niet zonder oplader.
Prestaties
Wat ons verbaasde was de kloof tussen pure rekenkracht en uithoudingsvermogen. De M4-chip staat met een 94e percentiel in onze database bij de absolute top, en de grafische prestaties (92e) zijn net zo indrukwekkend. Maar de batterij? Die haalt slechts het 31e percentiel, een van de zwakste scores in zijn klasse. Je merkt het meteen: bij intensief tekenwerk of gamen gaat de tablet sneller leeg dan je zou willen.
