The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 14-inch 2-in-1 is a solid, no-frills convertible laptop. It's got a decent Intel 12-core CPU and 16GB of RAM, which is enough for everyday work and school stuff. The touchscreen and 2-in-1 design are nice bonuses if you like to draw or watch videos in tablet mode. But you can tell this isn't a premium machine. The build feels okay, not great, and the specs are firmly in the mid-range. It's a practical choice, not an exciting one.

Performance is fine for basic tasks. The Intel 225U CPU lands in the 52nd percentile, so it's average. It'll handle web browsing, document editing, and video calls without a sweat. The 16GB of RAM is a nice touch for keeping multiple apps open. But the integrated graphics are weak, sitting in the 18th percentile. Don't even think about gaming on this thing. The screen is also just okay, scoring in the 35th percentile. It's bright enough for indoor use, but colors aren't super vibrant.

At around $800, this is a tricky call. You're getting a reliable, compact 2-in-1 with good RAM. That's the value. But you're also getting a mediocre screen, weak graphics, and not many ports. Compared to the Lenovo ThinkPad P14s, this IdeaPad feels less durable and has worse ports, but it's cheaper and has the 2-in-1 hinge. The ASUS Zenbook Duo is a much more innovative and powerful 2-in-1, but it costs a lot more. Against the Apple MacBook Pro, there's no contest in performance or screen quality, but the MacBook isn't a touchscreen. This IdeaPad sits in a middle ground: more flexible than a standard clamshell laptop, but less powerful and polished than the high-end convertibles.

Buy this if you're a student or business user who really wants a 2-in-1 touchscreen laptop on a budget and your needs are basic. The 16GB RAM and reliability are its best features. Don't buy it if you need good graphics for design work, play any games, or want a laptop that feels premium. It's a tool, not a toy.
