The new Surface Laptop for Business Copilot+ is a great screen and a decent chip in search of a purpose. It's a solid, well-built machine, but at $2,280, you're paying a premium for the Microsoft logo and a touchscreen. The one thing to know? This is a fantastic laptop for someone who lives in Microsoft 365 and needs a bright, beautiful display for presentations and spreadsheets. But if you're looking for raw power or value, you'll be disappointed.

The specs look good on paper, but the real-world performance is just okay. That Intel 268V 48-core CPU lands in the 58th percentile, which is surprising for a chip with that many cores. It's fast enough for business tasks, but it's not blowing anything out of the water. The Intel Arc integrated graphics are fine for video calls and light photo editing, but with a gaming score of 22.3 out of 100, you're not playing anything modern on this thing. The 32GB of RAM is the real standout, ensuring you can have a hundred Chrome tabs open without a hiccup.

It's not worth it. At $2,280, you're paying for the design and the screen, not the power. You can get more performance for less money from almost any other brand.

Stack it up against a 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M4 chip, and the Surface gets embarrassed on performance and battery life, though you lose the touchscreen. Compared to a Lenovo Legion Pro 7i, you're trading all gaming capability for a sleeker design and better portability. Even an ASUS Zenbook Duo offers more innovation with its dual-screen setup for a similar price. The Surface just doesn't win in any direct fight.

I can only recommend this to a very specific person: a corporate buyer who needs a standardized, reliable Windows machine with an excellent screen for executives. For everyone else, especially students or creative pros, there are better, faster, and cheaper options. Skip it unless your company is paying.
