Aperçu
Le Sony WH-1000XM4, c'est un peu la poule aux œufs d'or du casque sans fil. Sorti il y a quelques années, il domine encore nos classements grâce à un son riche et une réduction de bruit active (ANC) qu'on ne présente plus. Si vous voulez faire le vide autour de vous dans les transports ou au bureau, ce casque reste une valeur sûre, taillée pour l'audio haute résolution. Mais le confort ne casse pas des briques et l'absence de certification IP rappelle qu'il n'est pas fait pour le sport. Pour qui cherche le silence et une signature sonore flatteuse, le XM4 tient la route sans broncher. On a juste l'impression que le temps commence un peu à le rattraper face à des concurrents plus récents.
Performances
Notre base de données est formelle : le XM4 écrase la concurrence sur le son (97e percentile), une claque de chaleur et de détail qui convainc presque tout le monde. La connectivité est au top, et l'ANC, même si elle n'est plus la toute dernière, avale les bruits de moteur avec une efficacité redoutable. Le micro embarqué est au-dessus du lot, parfait pour les appels en intérieur. En revanche, l'autonomie de 30 heures fait pale figure face aux 60 heures d'un Sennheiser Momentum 4, et le confort se situe pile dans la moyenne : les coussinets un peu fermes peuvent chauffer au bout de quelques heures. Pour les puristes de la musique, le rendu n'est pas le plus neutre (77,4/100 sur notre critère musical), mais il reste très plaisant au quotidien.

Clairement, ce casque se dégotte aujourd'hui pour moins de 350 $ et, à ce tarif-là, il offre un rapport qualité-prix imbattable. Vous avez un ANC de référence, un son haut de gamme et une polyvalence qui enterre pas mal de concurrents deux fois plus chers. Notre conseil : fuyez les prix délirants, comparez les offres, et visez la fourchette basse. À moins de 400 $, c'est un achat presque automatique si vous cherchez du silence.
Face à la concurrence
Face au Sennheiser Momentum 4, le XM4 perd sur l'autonomie et le confort, mais garde l'avantage sur la signature sonore globale. Le Bose QuietComfort Ultra offre un confort moelleux et une ANC très proche, pour un tarif souvent plus élevé. Si vous voulez une finition luxueuse et une fidélité audio irréprochable, le Bowers & Wilkins Px8 S2 est au-dessus, mais à un prix qui pique.
