Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 16" 2K Storm Grey 2023 Review
The Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 offers a big, flexible screen and tons of storage, but its middling CPU performance holds it back from being a true standout.
Overview
The Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 is a solid all-rounder for the price. You get a big 16-inch touchscreen that folds into a tablet, 16GB of fast RAM, and a full terabyte of storage. It's built for everyday work, web browsing, and media, not for pushing pixels or heavy number crunching.
It feels well-made and reliable, scoring in the 75th percentile there. The connectivity is a real highlight too, with Thunderbolt ports that are faster than most laptops in its class. Just know that big screen and 2-in-1 hinge come with some trade-offs in portability and raw power.
Performance
The Intel 155U CPU is fine for office apps and having a dozen Chrome tabs open, but it's not a speed demon. It lands in the 38th percentile for CPU performance, so don't expect it to blaze through video encoding. The integrated Intel Graphics are exactly what you'd expect, good enough for streaming video but scoring a low 17.2 for gaming. The 1TB NVMe SSD is a bright spot, it's fast and spacious, sitting in the 78th percentile. This machine gets the basics done without fuss, but it won't wow you.

Value & Pricing
At around $1050, it's a decent value if you specifically want a large-screen 2-in-1. You're paying for that flexible form factor and the excellent port selection. The storage and reliability scores are strong for the money. But if you don't need the tablet mode, you can find traditional clamshell laptops with more powerful CPUs for the same price.
vs Competition
Compared to a traditional powerhouse like the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i, this Yoga isn't even in the same league for performance, but it's half the weight and has a touchscreen. Against the slick ASUS Zenbook Duo, you lose the dual-screen novelty but get a simpler, likely more reliable single-screen experience. And next to an Apple MacBook Pro, you get Windows, more ports, and a touchscreen for a fraction of the cost, but you give up immense processing power and battery life. It's a middle-ground choice.

Verdict
Buy this if you're a student or hybrid worker who really wants a big screen to write on or watch movies, and you value ports and storage over sheer speed. It's a good 'one device for most things' pick. Skip it if you edit video, code heavily, or play games beyond casual titles. You'll want more horsepower.
