Panasonic Lumix S Panasonic Lumix S 24-105mm f/4 Macro O.I.S. Lens Review
The Panasonic 24-105mm f/4 is the ultimate convenience lens for L-mount, but its average image quality makes it a tough sell at its price.
Overview
This is Panasonic's workhorse zoom for their full-frame L-mount cameras. It covers the classic 24-105mm range, which is great for everything from wide shots to portraits. It's a constant f/4 aperture, which is decent for a zoom, but don't expect super shallow depth of field or amazing low-light performance.
Performance
It's versatile, scoring in the 93rd percentile there, so it can handle a lot of different shots without you swapping lenses. But the performance story is mixed. The autofocus is just average (48th percentile), and the optical quality lands in the lower third (33rd percentile). It's not the sharpest tool in the shed, and the stabilization score (42nd percentile) is nothing special either.

Value & Pricing
Prices are all over the place, from $1040 to $1298. That's a $258 spread, so shop around. For over a grand, you're paying for that convenience and versatility, not for top-tier image quality. If you find it at the low end of that range, it's a more compelling deal.
vs Competition
Compared to the Sony FE 24-240mm, this Panasonic has a constant aperture, which is better, but Sony's lens gives you way more reach. Against primes like the Viltrox 35mm f/1.7 or Meike 55mm f/1.8, this zoom is way more flexible, but those primes will be sharper, faster, and much better in low light for a fraction of the price. The Panasonic Lumix G 14-140mm is for Micro Four Thirds, so it's not a direct competitor for full-frame shooters.

Verdict
Buy this if you're an L-mount shooter who wants one lens to do almost everything and you value convenience over ultimate image quality. Skip it if you're a pixel-peeper, need great low-light performance, or are on a tight budget.
