This is a very specific tool for a very specific job. The Fujifilm XF2X TC WR Teleconverter is a 2x extender that only works with two Fujinon zoom lenses: the XF50-140mmF2.8 and the XF100-400mm. If you own one of those lenses and you're constantly wishing you had more reach, this little tube is your answer. It's not a magic wand—it comes with the usual optical trade-offs of a teleconverter—but for turning your 100-400mm into an 800mm equivalent monster, it's the most compact and affordable option you've got.

The big surprise here is how well it maintains autofocus speed. Fujifilm claims it doesn't affect AF speed, and in our testing with the 50-140mm, that largely holds true. It's still snappy. The optical performance, however, is exactly what you'd expect from a 2x converter: you're going to lose some sharpness and contrast compared to the bare lens. The other option is adapting a Sigma or Tamron telephoto with a Fringer adapter, but that's a clunkier solution. This teleconverter wins on pure portability and integration.

If you're looking for a general-purpose lens extender or you don't own one of the two specific Fujinon zooms, this isn't it. Skip it and go invest in a longer native lens, like the XF 70-300mm or start saving for the 150-600mm. This converter is for committed owners of those two lenses, period.
