LG UH5N-M 65" Review
The LG UH5N-M is a commercial display with a TV's shape but a workhorse's soul. It's built for 24/7 digital signage, not for your Netflix binge.
The 30-Second Version
This is a workhorse commercial display, not a TV. It has a fantastic picture for its class but sounds awful and lacks HDR. Buy it for a retail store, not your living room.
Overview
This LG UH5N-M is a weird beast. It's a commercial display that thinks it's a TV, and that's the one thing you need to know. It's built for 24/7 operation in a boardroom or retail window, not for your living room. The picture quality scores are shockingly high for a commercial panel, but everything else about the experience is built for a corporate IT department, not a regular person.
Performance
The biggest surprise is how good the picture looks. It lands in the 94th percentile for picture quality in our database, which is frankly wild for a 500-nit IPS panel. The 120Hz refresh rate is also a nice touch, pushing its gaming score into the 86th percentile. But don't get too excited. That 32nd percentile HDR score tells the real story: this thing can't do proper HDR, and the audio is predictably tinny, sitting in the bottom third of all displays we track.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Stunningly good picture quality for a commercial display. 93th
- Built like a tank with 24/7 reliability and IP5X certification. 72th
- Great connectivity with DisplayPort and three HDMI inputs. 69th
- 120Hz refresh rate is a rare find for this type of panel. 68th
Cons
- The audio is terrible, plan on external speakers. 18th
- No real HDR support, so movies and games won't pop. 20th
- The webOS smart platform feels sluggish and dated. 27th
- It's heavy and not meant for a home environment at all.

Value & Pricing
At around $1500, it's a tough sell. You're paying a premium for commercial-grade durability and features like SuperSign that you probably don't need. For the same money, you could get a stunning consumer OLED TV with perfect blacks and great HDR. This is only worth it if your IT manager demands a display that never sleeps.
vs Competition
Forget the Sony BRAVIA 5 or LG OLED G5 on that competitor list. They're in a different universe for home use. The real comparison is against other commercial displays, or just buying a regular TV. If you need 24/7 operation and corporate management software, this LG holds its own. If you want the best picture for movies or games, the Hisense U6 or TCL QM6K Mini-LED TVs in this price range will run circles around it, even if they won't last a decade in a shopping mall.

Common Questions
Q: Can I use this as a regular TV?
Technically yes, but you'll hate it. The speakers are bad, it lacks proper HDR, and the smart TV interface is slow. Get a real TV.
Q: What does '24/7 duty cycle' mean?
It means it's designed to be left on all day, every day, without breaking. Normal TVs aren't built for that. This is for airports and stores.
Q: Is the 120Hz good for gaming?
The refresh rate is there, but without good HDR or low input lag optimization, it's a hollow victory. A gaming monitor or a proper TV will be a much better experience.
Who Should Skip This
If you're looking for a great TV for movies, sports, or gaming, this isn't it. Go get a Hisense U6 Series Mini-LED or a TCL QM6K instead. You'll get a better picture for the money and features you'll actually use.
Verdict
We can't recommend this for almost anyone reading a review on a tech site. It's a specialist tool. If you're outfitting a digital signage network or a 24/7 control room, it's a solid, well-connected option with a great picture. If you're looking for a TV for your home, office, or even a high-end conference room, there are a dozen better choices. Go buy one of those instead.
