ASUS ZenBook 14 2025 Review
The ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED packs 32GB of RAM and a discrete GPU into a $1269 package. It's powerful for the price, but its heavy build and limited ports hold it back.
Overview
The ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED is a solid business laptop that tries to do a bit of everything. It packs a discrete AMD Radeon 860 GPU and 32GB of RAM, which is a lot of power for the price. The 14-inch OLED touchscreen is a nice perk, and Windows 11 Pro is ready for work right out of the box. But at over 3kg, it's not exactly the lightest 14-inch machine you'll find. It's built more like a portable workstation than an ultraportable. The specs suggest it's aiming for creators and light gamers who also need to get office work done.
Performance
Performance is a mixed bag. That 32GB of RAM is in the 92nd percentile, so multitasking is a breeze. The AMD 350 8-core CPU is decent, landing in the 68th percentile for solid daily work. The discrete Radeon 860 GPU is the real story for gaming and creative apps, though its 55th percentile ranking means it's good, not great. It'll handle modern games at medium settings and speed up video edits, but don't expect to max out the latest titles. The weakest link is port selection, sitting in a low 37th percentile, so you'll likely need a dongle for anything beyond the basics.

Value & Pricing
At around $1269, the value proposition is interesting. You're getting a ton of RAM and a discrete GPU, which you usually don't see at this price. Windows 11 Pro alone adds value. However, the trade-offs are real. The weight and limited ports make it less of a true travel companion. If your priority is raw spec power for the dollar—especially that 32GB RAM—this is a strong deal. If battery life and ultra-portability are critical, the value drops fast.
vs Competition
Compared to the Apple MacBook Pro 14" with M4, you lose out on insane battery life, performance per watt, and build quality, but you save a ton of cash and get more RAM. Next to the ASUS Zenbook Duo, you miss out on the dual-screen creativity boost but get a more traditional (and likely more reliable) laptop experience. Against gaming beasts like the MSI Vector or Gigabyte AORUS, this Zenbook won't keep up in pure frame rates, but it's lighter, has a better screen for media, and looks more professional. It sits in a weird, specific niche.

Verdict
Buy this if you're a power user on a budget who needs lots of RAM for virtual machines, heavy browser tabs, or creative software, and you want the option for light gaming or GPU-accelerated tasks. The OLED screen is a bonus for after-hours movies. Don't buy it if you travel constantly and need all-day battery life and a super-light chassis, or if you're a hardcore gamer who needs top-tier graphics performance. It's a capable machine for a specific type of user.
