The Lenovo Tab One is a $125 tablet that makes some very clear trade-offs. It's got a battery life in the 96th percentile, which is fantastic, and connectivity in the 89th, so you're getting great Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.3. But you're paying for that with a screen that lands in the 4th percentile. That 8.7-inch 1340x800 panel is the definition of basic.

This is a device built for one thing: being a cheap, portable screen. At 322 grams, it's light enough to toss in a bag without a second thought. The MediaTek Helio G85 chip and 4GB of RAM put it in the bottom third for performance, but that's the deal. You're not buying this for speed.

Performance is exactly what you'd expect from the specs. The MediaTek Helio G85 CPU sits in the 38th percentile, and the GPU is right there at 39th. That means basic tasks like reading, light browsing, and video streaming are fine, but don't expect to game or multitask heavily. The 4GB of RAM is in the 28th percentile, so you'll feel those limits if you try to keep too many apps open. The 64GB of storage is also on the low end at the 26th percentile, but the expandable storage slot is a lifesaver here. The real star is the 5100mAh battery. Being in the 96th percentile means this thing will last for days on a single charge, which is its biggest win.

At $125, the value proposition is straightforward. You're getting a durable, ultra-portable Android tablet with killer battery life and good connectivity. You are explicitly not getting a good screen or strong performance. For the price, that's a fair trade if your needs are simple. It's significantly cheaper than any iPad or high-end Android tablet, but you feel that difference in every interaction with the display.

Compared to an entry-level iPad, the Tab One loses badly on screen quality, performance, and app ecosystem, but it wins on price and battery life. Against other budget Android tablets, its battery and modern connectivity (like Bluetooth 5.3) are standout features. But something like the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9, while more expensive, offers a much better screen and slightly better performance. The Tab One's closest competitor is itself—it's a niche device for someone who prioritizes battery and portability above all else, even a decent viewing experience.

The Lenovo Tab One is a one-trick pony, but it does that trick well. If you need a super-light, ultra-long-lasting tablet for reading, casual web browsing, and video calls, and you absolutely cannot spend more than $125, this works. Just know you're signing up for a truly mediocre screen and sluggish performance. For everyone else, saving up a bit more for a tablet with a better display is a much wiser investment.
