Overview

The LG Gram Book 15 is a study in extremes. It's got a massive 2TB SSD, landing in the 89th percentile for storage, and a generous 32GB of RAM. That's a lot of space for files and a ton of memory for multitasking. But the story changes when you look at the core performance. Its Intel 1334U CPU sits in the 30th percentile, and the integrated Iris Xe graphics are down at the 18th. So you're getting a lightweight, 1.7kg machine that's packed with memory and storage, but it's not built for speed.

Performance

Let's be clear, this isn't a performance laptop. The CPU score of 30th percentile means it's fine for everyday tasks like web browsing and document editing, but it'll start to sweat with heavier workloads. The real bottleneck is the GPU. At the 18th percentile, gaming is a non-starter, and even light video editing will be a slog. The strengths are in the specs you can see: that 32GB of RAM means you can have dozens of browser tabs open without a hiccup, and the 2TB SSD is huge for the price. Just don't expect it to compile code or render videos quickly.

Value & Pricing

At around $1069, the value proposition is tricky. You're paying for capacity over speed. You get double the RAM and quadruple the storage of many laptops in this price range. But you're sacrificing a lot of processing power and display quality to get it. If your top priorities are having a light laptop with tons of space for files and memory for multitasking, and you don't care about speed, it's a unique package. If you need any semblance of performance, your money goes further elsewhere.

vs Competition

Compared to something like the Lenovo ThinkPad P14s, you'd get a much more powerful CPU and better build quality, but with less RAM and storage for the money. The ASUS Zenbook Duo offers a revolutionary dual-screen design for similar portability. And if you look at gaming laptops like the MSI Vector, you're entering a completely different performance tier, but with triple the weight. The Gram's niche is clear: maximum storage and RAM in a light body, with everything else taking a back seat. The Apple MacBook Pro is in another universe performance-wise, but also costs significantly more.

Verdict

This is a laptop for a very specific user. If you are a student or professional who needs to carry a huge library of files and run many applications at once, but you only do basic word processing, web research, and email, the Gram 15 makes sense. The 2TB SSD and 32GB RAM are legitimately great. But for almost anyone else, the weak 30th-percentile CPU, poor display, and abysmal gaming score are major drawbacks. It's a capable file cabinet, not a speedy workstation.
