The Canon M200 is a compact mirrorless camera that's built for simplicity. It packs a 24.1MP APS-C sensor into a tiny body, and its main trick is a touchscreen that flips up for selfies. This is a camera that wants to get out of your way and let you shoot, whether that's photos or 4K video.

It's not trying to be a pro tool. There's no viewfinder, no in-body stabilization, and it's not weather-sealed. But for its size and price, the image quality and autofocus punch way above their weight.

The autofocus is the star here. It's in the 96th percentile, which means it's seriously good. The Dual Pixel CMOS AF with eye detection locks on fast and stays locked, even for portraits. At around $750, the M200 sits in a tricky spot. You're paying a premium for that compact form factor and the excellent autofocus. If you absolutely need the smallest possible camera with great photo quality, it's worth it. But if you can handle a slightly bigger body, you'll get more features for your money elsewhere.

Stack it up against something like the Sony a6400, and you see the trade-offs. The a6400 has a viewfinder, better burst shooting, and more robust video features, but it costs more and isn't as tiny. The Fujifilm X-S20 is another step up, adding great stabilization and more video controls for a higher price. The M200's real advantage is its size and simplicity—it's the easiest one to just pick up and use.

Buy the Canon M200 if you're a beginner, a vlogger, or just want a super simple, high-quality camera that disappears into your bag. Its autofocus and image quality are fantastic for the size. But skip it if you need a viewfinder, shoot a lot of handheld video, or want to grow into more advanced photography features.
