Viltrox Fujinon XF VILTROX 75mm f/1.2 F1.2 XF PRO Level Ultra Wide Review
The Viltrox 75mm f/1.2 brings a massive aperture to Fujifilm shooters for under $600, but you pay for it in sheer weight and bulk. Is it the right specialist lens for you?
Overview
So you're looking at the Viltrox 75mm f/1.2 for Fujifilm X mount. It's a big, heavy prime lens that's all about one thing: letting in a ton of light. With that f/1.2 aperture, it's built for low-light shooting and getting that super creamy background blur. Just know going in, this is a specialist's tool, not a walk-around lens.
Performance
The autofocus is a real highlight, landing in the 96th percentile. It's fast, quiet, and accurate, which is great for both photos and video. The stabilization is solid too, sitting around the 88th percentile. But the optical quality percentile is surprisingly low at 33rd, which suggests that while it's sharp, it might not be as clinically perfect as some higher-end glass. And at nearly 1.3kg, it's a beast to carry.

Value & Pricing
At around $580, it's a lot of lens for the money. You're getting a super fast aperture and great autofocus that competes with lenses twice the price. But you're also paying for it in weight and a plasticky build. If you absolutely need f/1.2 on a budget, it's a compelling option. If you can live with f/1.4 or f/1.8, you'll find lighter and better-built alternatives.
vs Competition
Compared to the Viltrox 35mm f/1.7, this 75mm is a different beast entirely. The 35mm is lighter and more versatile for everyday use. The 75mm is a heavyweight champion for specific shots. Against a Fujifilm first-party lens, you'll miss the premium metal build and weather sealing, but you'll save a huge amount of cash. And next to a zoom like the Panasonic 14-140mm, there's no contest in versatility, but the Viltrox blows it away in low-light and background blur.

Verdict
Buy this if you're a portrait or low-light shooter on a Fujifilm system who craves that f/1.2 look and doesn't mind a heavy kit. The autofocus and stabilization make it a viable video tool too. Avoid it if you travel light, need weather sealing, or want a do-everything lens. It's a one-trick pony, but it does that one trick very well for the price.
