The Acer TravelMate P6 is a business laptop that gets the basics right, but it's stuck in a weird spot. The one thing you need to know is that it's a port champion in a world that's moving on. It's light, it's got every physical connector you could ask for, and it's built for Windows 11 Pro. But when you look at its performance and reliability scores, you start to wonder who this is really for.

The numbers tell a clear story. That Intel 1335U CPU lands in the 32nd percentile, and the integrated Iris Xe graphics are down in the 18th. It's fine for spreadsheets, emails, and video calls, but don't expect any zip. The 1TB SSD is a nice touch, but the 16GB of RAM is just average. Honestly, nothing about the performance surprised me in a good way. It's exactly as middling as the specs suggest.

At $1050, it's a tough sell. You're paying for the port convenience and the Windows Pro license, but you're getting last-gen performance and serious questions about long-term reliability. For this money, you can find laptops that are faster, have better screens, and don't come with a reliability warning label.

This is where it falls apart. The ASUS Zenbook Duo, at a similar price, offers a revolutionary dual-screen design and much better overall performance. If you're deep in the Apple ecosystem, the base MacBook Air M3 runs circles around the TravelMate in speed, battery life, and build quality, though you lose the ports. Even within the business class, Lenovo's ThinkPads offer legendary reliability this Acer can't touch. The TravelMate feels like it's competing on features that matter less every year.

I can't recommend the Acer TravelMate P6. Its killer feature—tons of ports—is becoming a niche need, and it sacrifices too much everywhere else, especially in core reliability. Unless your IT department is forcing this specific model on you, look at a modern ultrabook like the Zenbook Duo for innovation or a MacBook Air for sheer quality. This laptop is a pass.
