Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE Galaxy Tab S10 FE 10.9" Review

The Galaxy Tab S10 FE is the thinnest compromise you'll make. It's built for portability, but its sluggish performance makes it hard to recommend for anything more than watching videos.

Overview

The Galaxy Tab S10 FE is the tablet you buy when you absolutely need something thin and light, and you're willing to accept some serious compromises to get it. It's not a powerhouse, it's not a gaming machine, and it's not a laptop replacement. It's a very portable screen for watching videos and checking email, and that's about it. The one thing to know is that its main selling point is its size, and everything else takes a back seat.

Performance

The performance is exactly what you'd expect from a device in the 23rd percentile for CPU and 18th for GPU: it's slow. Apps take a moment to load, and multitasking feels sluggish with only 8GB of RAM. It scored a dismal 3.8/100 for gaming, so don't even think about playing anything more demanding than a simple puzzle game. The only thing that surprised me was how well it handled basic video streaming, thanks to that decent 10.9-inch screen.

Value & Pricing

At around $500, it's not a terrible price for a Samsung tablet, but you're paying for the brand and the form factor, not the performance. You can find better-performing Android tablets for less money, but they might not be as slim. It's worth it only if portability is your absolute top priority and you have zero other needs.

vs Competition

This isn't competing with laptops like the MacBook Pro or gaming rigs. Its real competition is other mid-range tablets. Compared to something like an iPad (10th gen), the iPad has a much faster chip and a better app ecosystem, but costs more. Compared to a cheaper Android tablet like a Lenovo Tab P11, you might get similar performance for $100-$150 less, but you lose the Samsung name and that ultra-thin design. The S10 FE's only clear win is how easy it is to slip into a bag.

Verdict

I can only recommend the Galaxy Tab S10 FE to a very specific person: someone who wants the thinnest, lightest Samsung tablet possible and will only use it for media consumption and very light web browsing. For students, business users, or anyone who needs to get real work done, this is a hard pass. Spend a little more for an iPad or get a much better value with another Android brand.
