Brightin Star 7.5mm F2.8 III Wide Angle Fisheye Review
The Panasonic 7.5mm fisheye delivers a crazy 190-degree view for just $140, but it's a specialty tool with some clear compromises. Here's who should grab it.
Overview
The Panasonic Brightin Star 7.5mm F2.8 III is a fisheye lens that doesn't mess around. It's built for one thing: delivering a massive, distorted 190-degree field of view. That's wider than almost anything else out there, and it's perfect for grabbing the whole sky or cramming an entire room into a single, wild frame.
It's a prime lens, so you're stuck at 7.5mm, but with an f/2.8 aperture, it pulls in a decent amount of light. This makes it a solid pick for things like astrophotography where you need that extra brightness. Just know it's a specialty tool, not your everyday walk-around lens.
Performance
This lens is a bit of a mixed bag. The optical performance lands in the 70th percentile, which is decent for the price. The real star is the image stabilization, which is in the 91st percentile and really helps keep those ultra-wide shots sharp, especially in video. The autofocus, however, is just okay, sitting in the 48th percentile. It gets the job done but isn't lightning fast. And while the f/2.8 aperture is good, it's only middle-of-the-road at the 52nd percentile compared to other primes.

Value & Pricing
At around $140, this lens is a steal if you specifically want a fisheye. You're getting a unique, ultra-wide perspective and great stabilization for not much money. You can't really get this field of view anywhere else at this price point. Just go in knowing its limits. It's a fun, creative tool, not a do-everything workhorse.
vs Competition
Don't compare this to standard primes like the Viltrox 35mm f/1.7 or the Panasonic 14-140mm zoom. Those are versatile lenses; this is a specialty item. For a fisheye on a budget, it's in a league of its own. The main trade-off is build quality and autofocus versus more expensive options from Olympus or Samyang. If you need a sharp, all-purpose lens, look at those competitors. But if you want to experiment with wild perspectives without breaking the bank, this Panasonic is your best bet.

Verdict
Buy this lens if you're a Micro Four Thirds shooter looking to experiment with extreme wide-angle and fisheye effects, especially for astro, interiors, or creative video. It's a fantastic value for a very specific job. But if you need a general-purpose lens for travel or portraits, literally any of its listed competitors would be a better, more versatile choice.
