ASUS ExpertBook B1 B1503CVA-XS54 15.6" Full HD Review
The ASUS ExpertBook B1 is a bland, overpriced business laptop that gets outperformed by cheaper and more interesting options. Skip it.
Overview
The ASUS ExpertBook B1 is a business laptop that doesn't really excel at anything. It's a perfectly average machine built for basic office work, and that's about it. The one thing you need to know is that it's a safe, boring choice for someone who just needs a Windows PC for emails and spreadsheets, and doesn't care about performance, portability, or a good screen.
Performance
Honestly, nothing surprised me. The Intel 1335U CPU lands in the 32nd percentile, which means it's slower than most laptops out there. It'll handle your daily tasks, but you'll feel it chug if you have too many browser tabs open. The integrated graphics are predictably bad, scoring in the 18th percentile, so don't even think about gaming or video editing.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Comes with Windows 11 Pro, which is useful for business features. 78th
- 16GB of RAM is a decent amount for multitasking.
- 512GB SSD is a solid starting point for storage.
- It's a known brand, so support should be straightforward.
Cons
- The screen is in the 16th percentile. It's a dim, basic 1080p panel. 25th
- Performance is mediocre across the board. You're paying for a name, not power. 33th
- Port selection is terrible, ranking in the 7th percentile.
- It's not particularly compact or light for a 15-inch laptop.

Value & Pricing
At $850, this is a tough sell. You're paying a premium for the 'ExpertBook' branding and Windows Pro, but you're getting mid-to-low tier components in almost every category. For this price, you should expect a lot more.
Price History
vs Competition
This is where it gets rough. The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i or MSI Vector 16, while gaming laptops, would absolutely demolish this in performance for a similar price. If you need a business ultrabook, the ASUS Zenbook Duo offers a far more innovative and portable design. Even an Apple MacBook Air M2, which often goes on sale, provides better performance, a stunning screen, and all-day battery life. The ExpertBook B1 feels like it's from a different, slower era.

Verdict
I can't recommend the ASUS ExpertBook B1. It's an overpriced, underwhelming laptop that gets beaten in every meaningful way by its competitors. Unless you have a specific corporate requirement for this exact model, you should look elsewhere. Your money will go much, much further.
