The Zeiss wins on brand prestige and a certain 'look,' but it loses on practically every spec and feature to these modern alternatives.

Buy this lens only if you're a Canon shooter deeply invested in the Zeiss manual focus experience and you crave that specific optical character. For everyone else—especially anyone who needs autofocus, stabilization, or a faster aperture—there are better, cheaper, and more capable options out there. This is a niche product for a niche audience.
