Overview

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ is a budget tablet that tries to do a lot for not a lot of money. It's got a big 11-inch screen, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage, which sounds decent on paper. But the numbers tell a different story. Its overall score lands at just 22.2 out of 100, and it's weakest in areas that need power, like art and design, where it scores a dismal 14.1.

Performance

Let's be blunt: performance is this tablet's biggest weakness. The MediaTek Dimensity 7300 CPU sits in the 5th percentile. That means 95% of tablets in our database have a faster processor. The GPU is even worse, ranking in the 7th percentile. In real terms, this isn't a device for anything beyond basic web browsing, reading, or video streaming. It scored a 24.8 for reading, which is its 'best' category, but that's still a failing grade. The 6GB of RAM is its strongest spec, landing in the 52nd percentile, but that's just average. Everything else, from the 27th percentile screen to the 29th percentile connectivity, is below average.

Value & Pricing

At $253 to $278, the Tab A11+ is cheap. But you get what you pay for. The price-to-performance ratio is rough because the performance is so low. You're saving money, but you're also buying a device that feels sluggish from day one. If your budget is absolutely locked under $300, this is an option. But if you can stretch it even a little, there are much better values that don't sacrifice so much speed.

vs Competition

Compared to its peers, the Tab A11+ is outclassed. The Apple iPad Pro (even older models) and Microsoft Surface Pro 11 are in a different universe performance-wise, but they also cost four to five times as much. A more direct comparison might be an older iPad or a Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE. Those will still cost more, but their CPU and GPU percentiles will be in the 60s or 70s, not the single digits. Even the Lenovo Legion Go, a gaming handheld, would run circles around this tablet for general use. The Tab A11+ only wins on initial purchase price.

Verdict

I can't recommend the Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ for almost anyone. The 5th percentile CPU is a deal-breaker. It's so slow that it compromises the basic tablet experience. If you only need a screen for reading e-books and watching videos in a pinch, and your budget is under $280, it'll work. But for students, artists, or anyone wanting a responsive device, look elsewhere. Spending $100 more on a used or older-model tablet from a better tier will give you a massively better experience.
