This Dell Latitude E7440 is a weird, confusing laptop that feels like it was assembled from spare parts. The one thing you need to know is that it has a bizarrely powerful integrated GPU paired with a terrible screen and almost no RAM. It's not a good laptop, but it might be a fascinating project machine for someone who loves tinkering.

The performance story is all over the place. That AMD integrated graphics chip is shockingly strong, landing in the 98th percentile. But the 4GB of RAM is a crippling bottleneck that will make Windows 10 feel sluggish, and the 4th-gen Intel Core i5 CPU is in the bottom quarter of performance. It's like putting a race car engine in a go-kart with flat tires.

At $164, it's cheap. But 'cheap' doesn't mean 'good value'. You're buying a collection of severe compromises. Only consider this if you need a ultra-budget desktop replacement or a parts donor.

Forget the gaming laptops on the competitor list. They're in a different universe. A more relevant comparison is any modern budget Chromebook or used business laptop like a Lenovo ThinkPad from the last 5 years. Even an older ThinkPad would give you a better screen, more RAM, and a more balanced experience for a similar price. The ASUS Zenbook Duo is a dual-screen marvel, but comparing it to this Dell is like comparing a sports car to a wheelbarrow.

I can't recommend this as anyone's primary laptop. The awful screen and lack of RAM make it a frustrating daily driver. However, if you're a hobbyist who needs a cheap, durable machine for a very specific task that leverages that oddball GPU, or you just need a basic terminal, it's a curious oddity. For literally everyone else, keep looking.
