At around $200, this lens is a steal for the experience it offers. You're getting an f/0.95 aperture for the price of a basic f/1.8 autofocus lens. The value is entirely in that unique, ultra-shallow depth-of-field look. If that's your goal, it's fantastic. If you need autofocus for fast-moving subjects, look elsewhere.
vs Competition
Stack it up against the competition and its role is clear. The Viltrox 35mm f/1.7 is cheaper and has autofocus, but you lose over a full stop of light and that magical bokeh.
